Gabbard quits the Democratic Party and calls it an elitist cabal. Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic presidential candidate, said she was leaving the party on Tuesday and called it an “elitist cabal.”

Gabbard is leaving the House of Representatives in 2021. She made a nearly 30-minute video on her YouTube account in which she criticized the institution. She did not say, however, that she planned to join the Republican Party or any other political group.

Gabbard said in an excerpt posted on Twitter, “I can no longer stay in today’s Democratic Party, which is now completely controlled by an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly weakness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stir up anti-white racism.”

“I believe in a government that is made up of, run by, and works for the people. Sadly, the Democratic Party of today does not. “Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by, and for the powerful elite,” she said. “I’m calling on my fellow Democrats with good sense and an independent spirit to leave the Democratic Party with me.”

Gabbard’s speech was the first episode of her podcast, “The Tusli Gabbard Show,” which she now runs.

Since she lost the Democratic primary for president in 2020, Gabbard has become more and more isolated from the party. She has also become a loud critic of President Biden, accusing him of “pouring fuel on the flames” of division in the country.

In a statement on Fox News on Tuesday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich praised Tulsi for leaving the Democrats. He said that she is like many Americans who have always voted blue but don’t know what the Democrats stand for now.

“Gabbard has always been a kind of free spirit,” Gingrich said. “When she ran for president, I think she realized how far away she was from most of the Democratic Party, which is, to be honest, a pretty weird party now…. I think you see where this is going. We’ve also seen a big shift among Latinos away from the Democratic Party and toward the Republican Party. This is because the Democratic Party’s strange policies have turned them off.
