Kanye West makes a lighthearted joke about being dropped by companies. Kanye West isn’t acting worried about the numerous businesses that have ended relationships with him as a result of his anti-Semitic remarks.
On Thursday, the controversial artist and entrepreneur posted a meme on his verified Instagram account with the headline, “Ye has reportedly cut ties with Kanye West.”
“Had to cut ties bro,” he captioned the photo.
West’s name has been legally changed to Ye.
He also sent a note to Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel with the caption “Love speech.”
“I am Ari Emmanuel.” “I lost $2 billion in one day and I’m still alive,” the note says. “This is a speech about love.” I still have feelings for you. God still cares for you. Money does not define me. “I am who I am because of the people.”
Emanuel, a top entertainment agent, penned an opinion piece for the Financial Times urging businesses to cut ties with and distance themselves from the West due to his antisemitic remarks. Several companies have done so, most recently Peloton.
West’s Instagram account was restricted and some content was deleted earlier this month for violating the company’s policies.
