Katie Couric Announces Breast Cancer, Former “TODAY” co-anchor Katie Couric revealed on Wednesday that she has been receiving treatment for breast cancer.

In her most recent Instagram post, 65-year-old Couric shared the disturbing figure that a woman in the US receives a diagnosis of cancer every two minutes.

She wrote, “On June 21st, I joined them. As #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth draws near, I wanted to share my own experience with you all, encourage you to get checked, and let you know that you might be a woman who needs more than a mammogram.

She wrote in an essay on her Katie Couric Media website that she found out about her diagnosis on the ninth anniversary of her marriage to John Molner.

“The moment I felt nauseous, the room began to spin. Being in the center of an open workplace forced me to find a quiet spot to speak because my mouth was struggling to keep up with the questions racing through my head “She composed.

As soon as she learned that her first husband, Jay Monahan, who passed away from colon cancer in 1998 at the age of 42, had the condition, Couric said she immediately thought of other family members who also had it.

“My incredulity rapidly gave way to resignation. Why would I be immune to cancer given my family’s history of the disease? My initial thought changed from “Why me?” to “Why not me?” “She composed.

Following a plan developed with her physician, Couric had surgery on July 14 and started radiation treatment on September 7. She wrote that her final session occurred on Tuesday.

She claimed that she wanted to share her experience in order to inspire other women to continue taking their tests.

“Please schedule a mammogram every year. This time, I was six months late. What might have happened if I had put it off longer makes me cringe. But more crucially, do see if you require further screening “She spoke.
