Watch Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn (a.k.a. Eddie) meet — and jam with! — Metallica
Eddie Munson lived to shred any other day — backstage at Lollapalooza, anyway.
At a critical moment within the Stranger Things season 4 finale, Eddie busted out an epic rendition of Metallica’s 1986 heavy-metallic traditional “master of Puppets.” And now Joseph Quinn, who plays candy, doomed Eddie, has jammed with the masters of puppets themselves.
“Thank you a lot for letting us use the music,” a visibly thrilled Quinn told the quartet as they lounged backstage at the Chicago track festival.
Lead singer James Hetfield straight away shot back, “thanks for doing it justice.”
Quinn, who advised EW that he is been playing the guitar considering that formative years, defined why it became so large for him to meet the metal gods who created his person’s display-stopping second.
“It is all I was being attentive to for 2 years,” he said. “I sense very relatedly to you men.”
The feeling changed into mutual. because the episode dropped on July 1, “Master of Puppets” has loved new lifestyles (unlike Eddie — RIP!), touchdown on the Billboard warm 100 charts,s and hiking into the top forty. And past that, Hetfield is a longtime Stranger things aficionado.
“I am a large fan of it, have been because season 1,” he informed Quinn. “My kids and that I, it is been a bonding experience for us.”
After their sit-down chat, the group then invited Quinn to the tuning room for a jam consultation.
“I’m a bit rusty, so I might need a lesson,” he warned them before leaping in and gambling shoulder to shoulder with Hetfield.
He truly surpassed the check, the main drummer Lars Ulrich to the comic story, “I might like to make a declaration that Metallica is now a five-piece.”
After their consultation, the band surprised Quinn with a custom B.C. wealthy guitar same as the only one he performed inside the show, and Quinn dropped to his knees in supplication as they surpassed it over.
