The Organic Meat Company Limited (TOMCL) has achieved the distinction of being the inaugural South Asian company to export heat-treated frozen bovine meat products to China, the company announced. The Organic Meat Company exports heat-treated beef to China.
Monday, TOMCL, a Pakistani livestock processor, notified the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) of the development.
The notice stated, “We are delighted to announce that on December 31, 2023, TOMCL became the inaugural South Asian company to effectively export cooked/heat-treated frozen beef meat products to the People’s Republic of China (PRC).”

“As of 2022, the People’s Republic of China imported an estimated 3.10 million metric tonnes of beef and mutton meat, making it the largest importer of meat in the world.” “TOMCL is one of only two companies to have obtained a license to export cooked beef meat products from South Asia to China,” the statement continued.
With these significant approvals and the start of active exports to mainland China, TOMCL is poised to explore new horizons, anticipating substantial growth in export volumes and revenue, according to the company.
“We strongly believe that this significant achievement will not only bolster the organization’s reputation within the sector but also produce considerable returns for our valued shareholders.

In 2021, TOMCL was granted authorization by the Chinese customs authorities to export heat-treated beef to China.
The Board of Directors (BoD) of TOMCL approved last week to a proposal for expanding production facilities and the overall upgrading of the organization.
The statement read, “The Board of Directors of TOMCL has approved the management’s decision regarding the proposed expansion plan for the production facilities and upgrade of the company.”
Using an increased investment outlay of Rs600 million, TOMCL disclosed that it has significantly expanded its current livestock chilling and freezing capabilities.
TOMCL exports, processes, and distributes halal livestock and related products.
The Middle East constitutes the primary export market for TOMCLs. However, by expanding its portfolio to include pet food basic materials, the company has gained access to markets in the United States and Europe. Additionally, the corporation has substantial operations in the Commonwealth of Independent States, South Asia, and the Far East markets.
Furthermore, it asserts that it is the sole Pakistani enterprise to export vacuum-packed fresh beef and the first to possess the capability to blast freeze or vacuum-pack mutton and quarter beef carcasses.
