According to code that was discovered by MacRumors contributor Steve Moser within the iOS 16 release candidate that was released this week, 48-megapixel ProRAW photos taken on the Main camera will be approximately 75MB in size.
This makes them approximately three times larger than photos taken with the 12-megapixel sensor on an iPhone 13 Pro or an iPhone 14 Pro. In a short hands-on video that was uploaded to YouTube by Sara Dietschy after Apple’s “Far out” event, a photo that was taken with the 48MP sensor could be seen in the Photos app. The size of the photo was 80.4MB, and it had a resolution of 8,064 by 6,048.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will commence on the next Friday, September 9, and the devices will start arriving at customers’ doorsteps on the following Friday, September 16.
